ULTIMATUM FIGHTS COMING JUNE 22 !!!
Ultimatum Fights is coming to the Virginia Beach Fieldhouse Saturday, June 22nd!!!! Mark your calendars and make sure you are in attendance!! There are a number of fights scheduled to be on this card including (pretty much) our entire Hybrid Fight Team!!!!
Plan on a night of Mixed Martial Arts at it's best...as "The Team" : Kadhafi TKO Bertho, Breon Sparrow, Kurt Gaylon, Kevin Johnson, and Salu Gbla (so far) turn it on like they always do with some amazing bouts! Again, that's only mentioning OUR fighters...there will be talent coming from near and far so save the date!!

As you all know this past weekend Team Hybrid's LOUIS JOHNSON hadhis Pro Debut at The Victorium - Episode I in Ruther Glen, VA.....How did he do, you ask?? Well they do say a picture is worth a thousand words....

This battle proved to be one of Louis' toughest to date. First round was extremely close....Second round Louis made sure he came in full force and started breaking down his opponent with a flurry of head kicks, he had a couple of take downs followed by some severe ground and pound and that's where the referee stopped the fight....LOUIS ::: Winner by ref stoppage in the 2nd round !!!

We just want to say "CONGRATULATIONS" to our 'junior liger-turned-assistant instructor-turned-fight team member'Brayden Durso as he stepped into the ring this past weekend at CSC 36 in Richmond, VA and WON by unanimous decision!!!
Just a little history on"Mancub" (as we call him)....he started with us when he was 14 as a junior student, he stayed dedicated to the art of Muay Thai and became an assistant instructor to some of the best in the business, and decided (well he always wanted to fight) he wanted to get in the ring...it was just a matter of finding the right opponent and the right timing. So last weekend, May 4th, our Mancub got into the ring and won by unanimous decision!! So very proud of you Brayden!!
CONGRATULATIONS BRAYDEN AND THANK YOU TO ALL HIS COACHES AND TEAMMATES FOR GETTING HIM PREPARED FOR THIS FIGHT!!!

- Spring into Summer Event HTC is proud to be a part of this great community event. It will be held at the Virginia Beach SportsPlex from 10am - 6pm and FREE for everyone. Come by and join the fun!!!
May 10th - In honor of all our Mom's, HTC wants you to "BRING MOM TO TRAIN DAY". All Mom's are invited to join their child / children in class this day. We are planning something special for the Mom's that join the Junior Ligers @ 6pm. Mom's are also invited to take any complementary class they choose for the week of May 12th - 18th. We want to say THANK YOU for allowing us to have your child in class. :0)
May 27th - Memorial Day OPEN MAT ONLY for HTC members. All classes will be cancelled, but you may come in anytime from 10am - 1pm and work out on your own. - NO CROSSFIT WODthis day. All CrossFit Instructors will be at theMemorial Day Murph Competition. We strongly recommend you attend and support our HTC staff and students competing. WHAT IS MDM ?: A yearly fundraiser for great charities supporting military causes. It’s based on a workout called “Murph” named after Medal of Honor recipient Michael Murphy. The idea is to honor ALL of our fallen military members with a challenging workout with our pain and sweat (some tears & blood too im sure!).
The Good Fight's Virginia Open took place this past weekend Saturday, April 13th at the Virginia Beach Field House. Once again a packed, all-day event of loyal Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students from a host of Martial Arts academies from all over the state of Virginia. Matches in both gi and no-gi divisions reached capacity with children, female, and male competitors of all different levels of experience!!
HTC had an entire Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu Team compete and not suprisingly finished with a whole lot of hardware in the form of medals to display for our supportive spectators!! Go to http://www.thegoodfight.tv/2013_tournament_season.html for more details on the matches...

SPARTYKA'S TKO FOR THE TA-TAS IN THE BOOKS !!!
Spartyka Fight League XI : TKO For The Ta-Tas in the history books! Last Saturday, April 13th, 2013 proved to be another exciting evening of Mixed Martial Arts in Hampton Roads!! 2nd annual fundraiser/charity event for breast cancer awareness promised and proved to be another huge community event complete with donations, sponsors, survivors, spectators, fighters, families, friends, fight fanatics, and naturally FIGHTS!!
Hybrid Training Center is always proud to be a proud participant of Spartyka Fight League's events along with other local academies showing off our talent in the form of Martial Artists! Our student Gerald Meuse was the only HTC fighter on the card at this event and came out with the "W" via TKO in the 2nd round.
CONGRATULATIONS GERALD & THANK YOU TO HIS FELLOW TEAM MATES & COACHES THAT HELPED HIM PREPARE FOR YET ANOTHER VICTORY!!!
EFC 13 IN THE BOOKS !!!
Team Hybrid showed up to Lynchburg and showed out! As if the Elite Fighting Challenge (EFC) being one of the best organizations to promote and sponsor MMA fights wasn't enough to get you hook, line, and sinker....this EFC (lucky 13) had 7 of Hybrid Training Center's fighters originally on the fight card! WOW!! By event time, it was down to 4 of our fighters with confirmed fights. And by the end of the event we were 4 for 4!!! Team Hybrid finished with all "W's"!!!!
Breon Sparrow fought at 155lbs and won by TKO :27 seconds into the 2nd round......Heavyweight Salu Gbla defeated his opponent :13 seconds into the 1st round by TKO......Kadhafi Bertho submitted his opponent via Triangle Choke in 1:17 of the very 1st round.....and lastly Te Edwards won his bout in :38 seconds of the very 1st round by TKO!! So needless to say we are extremely proud of our fight team!!

SAULO'S L1 INSTRUCTOR'S COURSE COMPLETE !!!!
Saulo Ribeiro was in town this past weekend to teach his L1 Instructor's Course to 20 members of the Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu family. The 20 instructors were from up and down the east coast with 7 of those instructors coming from Hybrid Training Center. With Saulo being hands on and directly teaching over 30 hours of jiu jitsu (new information and new technique), that could only mean great things to come! Thank you to all the affiliate schools and members for attending ...we look forward to seeing what's in store!

"Ok.... Hybrid training center went to the WKA NATIONAL MUAY THAI AMATEUR TOURNAMENT with 6 competitors. We went up against the top gyms across the United States. The results came from great dedication, hard work, and sacrifice and definitely our support that traveled to the competition to help and cheer.....I and we couldn't have done it without you....that's team effort, thanks everyone....."
